Jeffrey L Portman Sr

Formerly chairman and CEO of AMC, Jeffrey L. Portman Sr. is now adviser to International Market Centers, following the 2018 sale of AMC and AmericasMart to IMC. As the producer of 18 category-leading trade fairs in several U.S. cities, and the organizer and partner in trade show entities and operations around the world, AMC operated a major global wholesale trading exchange, with AmericasMart as its key brand. Portman began his career there in the mid-1960s, working on the loading dock of what was then Atlanta Merchandise Mart. He became president and chief operating officer in 2001 and chairman and CEO in 2018, prior to the sale. Education: Georgia State University, Harvard University (MBA)
