Loren Monroe

Loren Monroe leads the BGR’s Appropriations/State and Local Government Affairs practice while providing strategic advice and counsel to the firm’s entire roster of clients; he also serves as the firm’s spokesman, handling all media relations. With over 15 years of experience in Washington’s political, business and public policy arenas, Loren leverages his knowledge and expertise to see that the policy objectives of the firm’s clients are met. In leading BGR’s Appropriations/State and Local Government Affairs practice, he helps provide clients at the local, state and federal levels with policy solutions and business opportunities in Washington and state capitols across the country, through direct advocacy before Members of Congress, Governors and Attorneys General. During his time at BGR, Loren has lobbied for a diverse roster of clients in the health, financial services, technology, international and energy arenas. Due to the quality of service and results that are consistently delivered, Loren has represented many of his clients in excess of 10 years. In 2005, 2008 and 2009, he was named one of Washington’s top lobbyists by The Hill newspaper. Prior to joining BGR, Loren was a business development coordinator for Washington, D.C., public affairs firm Cassidy & Associates. Before joining Cassidy & Associates, he began his career in Washington serving on the legislative staff of Senator Pete Domenici of New Mexico. On the political front, Loren served in the communications and political operations departments for President George H.W. Bush’s 1992 campaign; as a top fundraising aide to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Finance Department in 1994 (when the committee helped with the Republican takeover of the House); on the government affairs whip team at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 GOP Conventions; and for the George W. Bush 2000 campaign in New Mexico. He currently serves on the Finance Committee for the Republican Governors Association as well as the Republican Attorneys General Association. Loren holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Vermont.
