Jennifer Larkin Lukawski, part of the BGR team for more than seven years, currently serves as a Principal of the firm. In this role, she is part of the leadership of the firm as well as a member of the health care policy team, where her primary focus is Congress. Her extensive experience in House and Senate relations provides Jennifer with the understanding of how policy and politics intersect, which she leverages to achieve her clients’ goals and objectives. During her tenure at BGR, Jennifer has played a critical part in numerous client successes, most recently by helping to secure landmark improvements to the End Stage Renal Dialysis program, which serves hundreds of thousands of Americans suffering from kidney disease. These reforms were included in Medicare legislation passed by Congress and signed into law in 2008. Before joining BGR, Jennifer was the Director of House Relations at the Heritage Foundation, an influential free market think tank. In this role, she worked closely with a broad range of House members and staff, particularly the House Republican Leadership, to win support for Heritage’s policy initiatives on taxes, health care, Social Security, education and missile defense. Before her role at Heritage, Jennifer served as the first Executive Director of the House Republican Study Committee (RSC), a 100-member strong organization of conservative House Republicans. In this capacity, Jennifer assisted with the timing, direction and substance of legislation considered on the House floor. Prior to her work for the RSC, Jennifer served for nearly six years as a top aide to former Representative Robert K. Dornan, who was a nationally-recognized leader on national defense, law enforcement and pro-family issues. Jennifer attended the Catholic University of America, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Politics. She currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband and their two children.
