Kathleen was most recently the Senior Strategy Advisor for Students First, an up-and-coming organization founded by Michelle Rhee to promote fundamental change in education. She currently serves on the board of George Mason University and is the President of the deLaski Family Foundation. Previously Kathleen worked as the senior program officer for education at the Walton Family Foundation and also served as SVP of Consumer Marketing for Sallie Mae. She spent five yeras at AOL as director of news and political programming. Prior to AOL, Kathleen was appointed by President Clinton as Chief Spokewoman for the Pentagon where she oversaw the military's worldwide public information team. She also spent 13 years as a TV journalist, including five years as an ABC News White House correspondent. Kathleen earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her master's degree in Public Administration at Harvard University's J.F. Kennedy School of Government. Kathleen enjoys cooking, ballet dancing and organic farming. She is Ken deLaski's sister.
