Louis Paul Napoli was born in Washington and was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. He served in a counterintelligence unit with the Army Air Forces during World War II. He graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 1952 and was a member of the Georgetown track team. He worked for the FBI before joining the Central Intelligence Agency in 1953. Mr. Napoli was based in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Trinidad and Colombia and also was assigned to Guam. His final assignment was as liaison officer between the CIA and the Navy in Norfolk. After retiring in 1983, he continued to work as a contractor with the CIA for several years. He lived in Potomac and Virginia Beach before moving to Leisure World in 1990. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Mae Belt Napoli of Silver Spring.
