Jennifer W. Pileggi is senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW), a $4.7 billion freight transportation and logistics services company headquartered in San Mateo, Calif. Con-way delivers industry-leading services through its primary operating companies of Con-way Freight, Menlo Worldwide Logistics and Con-way Truckload. These operating units provide high-performance, day-definite less-than-truckload (LTL) and full truckload and intermodal freight transportation, as well as logistics, warehousing and supply chain management services, and trailer manufacturing. Con-way Inc. and its subsidiaries operate from more than 500 locations across North America and in 17 countries and five continents. As the company’s chief attorney, Ms. Pileggi manages the company’s legal staff, is responsible for securities law, corporate governance and compliance matters, financial transactions and general corporate matters, and is a member of the executive management team. She has served in her current capacity since December 2004. She previously served as vice president and corporate counsel for Menlo Worldwide, Con-way’s $1.3 billion supply chain management business segment, a position she had held since 2003. Ms. Pileggi started her career in 1996 as the first attorney for Menlo Worldwide’s logistics subsidiary, Menlo Logistics, which manages a full range of logistics activities in the United States and internationally for companies primarily in the automotive, technology, manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer product and retail industries. Ms. Pileggi was promoted to vice president and corporate counsel of Menlo Logistics in 1999. An attorney with almost 18 years of experience in corporate law, Ms. Pileggi started her legal career in 1990 with Heller, Ehrman, White and McAuliffe in San Francisco, Calif. As a business associate, she represented investment advisers and worked on stock and limited partnership offerings. In 1992, she joined Marron, Reid & Sheehy in San Francisco as a business associate representing small and mid-sized companies in general business and real estate matters. Ms. Pileggi is a native of New York and earned a bachelor’s degree in art history from Yale University, where she graduated with honors. She earned her JD degree from the New York University School of Law and is a member of the American Bar Association and the California State Bar Association. Ms. Pileggi is based at Con-way’s corporate headquarters in San Mateo, Calif.
