Shari Redstone

Shari Redstone, who orchestrated the combination of her father Sumner Redstone’s companies, and guided Paramount to try and compete with Netflix in the streaming wars with its own flagship service, Paramount+ (which now has 77.7 million subscribers), will get $1.75 billion in cash for the controlling stake in her holding company, Ms. Redstone had been Vice Chair of the Board of the Company since June 2005, and President of National Amusements since January 2000. Prior to that, Ms. Redstone served as Executive Vice President of National Amusements since 1994. Ms. Redstone practiced law from 1978 to 1993, with her practice including corporate law, estate planning and criminal law. Ms. Redstone is a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the National Association of Theatre Owners, Co-Chairman and Co-President of MovieTickets.com, Inc., and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CineBridge Ventures, Inc. Ms. Redstone is a board member of several charitable organizations, including the Board of Trustees at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, the Board of Directors at Combined Jewish Philanthropies and the Board of Directors of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation. Ms. Redstone is also a director of National Amusements, Midway Games Inc. (Chair) and Viacom (Vice Chair). Ms. Redstone is also Co-founder and Managing Partner of Advancit Capital, a venture capital firm launched in 2011 which focuses on early stage investments in media, entertainment and technology. In addition, she is Co-Chairman of MovieTickets.com, Inc. and is a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the National Theatre Owners Association (NATO). Ms. Redstone earned a BS from Tufts University and a JD and a Masters in Tax Law from Boston University. She practiced corporate law, estate planning and criminal law in the Boston area before joining National Amusemen
