Elaine Schusteras, 90 years old, died Monday August 1 2022 of complications from pneumonia. She was predeceased in 2018 by her husband and the love of her life, Gerald Schuster. Elaine Schuster, along with her husband Gerald, is the founding benefactor of the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University. She was formerly a board member of the Women’s Studies Research Center, also at Brandeis University. Schuster co-founded Operation PEACE (Positive Education Always Creates Elevation), a leading community-based network center which provides mentoring, tutoring, and life skills training for inner-city children in Atlanta and Boston. In 2010, Schuster was a Representative of the United States to the 64th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. She is a board member of the Corporation of Partners HealthCare and serves on the Trust Board and the Women’s Health Forum at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. For eight years, she was a member of the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts. Elaine Schuster lived in Boston and Osterville, MA, and was a resident of Palm Beach, FL for more than 20 years. She leaves behind four children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They are his son Mark, his wife, Audrey, and their three children, Elizabeth and his wife, Taylor; daughter Nikki and her husband, Keegan, and their two daughters, Flynn and Colby, and their son, John; his son Scott and his wife, Heidi, and their three children, Jessica, Carly and Alexandra and her husband, Alex, and their two children, Georgia and August; his daughter Jodi and his daughter Drew; His son Todd and his wife, Laurie, and their two daughters, Lindsay and Katie.
