Mr. Weller brings to clients more than 25 years of legislative experience, much of it focusing on medical technology issues. His keen understanding of the congressional and regulatory decision-making process was formed during his tenure as a staff member of U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.); while an attorney for the National Republican Senatorial Committee; and as a manager of the Washington office of a Fortune 500 company. Mr. Weller provides strategic counsel to clients on health care, transportation and financial services matters. He represents corporations and industry associations in federal legislative and regulatory matters, including matters before Congress and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. His extensive experience in the areas of Medicare coverage, coding and payment enables him to help medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical manufacturers and voluntary health association clients gain and maintain market access for their products. Specializing in direct lobbying, market planning, regulatory counseling, political intelligence and developing and managing coalitions, Mr. Weller recently led a coalition of manufacturers of diabetes equipment and supplies in a successful effort to maintain Medicare access to their products. A founder and managing director of Aventor, a medical technology consulting firm, Mr. Weller also led the Health and Life Sciences practice at the Washington office of another firm.
