Mr. William J. Maggio is chief executive officer of the Jacobs Institute. He is a healthcare, medical diagnostics, and business development executive from Buffalo, New York. Building on BD experience with Boehringer Mannheim and Roche, he was instrumental in the expansion of Immco Diagnostics, Inc. and its acquisition by Trinity Biotech PLC (NASDAQ: TRIB). He has taken a leadership role in a number of other health care and biotech ventures. Bill is also chair of the renowned 43North business competition to spur economic development in Buffalo. On the investment side, he is a Managing Partner at Lorraine Capital, located in Buffalo. Bill serves as Entrepreneur in Residency at Convergent Health Care Partners LLC, Chicago, Illinois, and Chairman of Fitzgerald Antibodies Inc, Boston, Massachusetts. Bill remains very active in the Buffalo community as chair, director, and advisor on a number of local, national, and international boards including the University at Buffalo Foundation Board of Directors, Kaleida Health Board of Directors (Vice Chair), Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, (Trustee), the West Side Rowing Club (Past Chair), and the Burchfield Penny Art Center. In addition to spending time with his two daughters and his wife Linda, with whom he chaired the 2016 Hospice WNY Gala, he is a classically trained pianist and has a passion for bringing the sport of rowing to inner city public school children.
