U.S. Representative for New York's 23rd congressional district. A Republican, Reed first joined the U.S. House after winning a special election to replace Eric Massa in 2010. Reed previously served one term as the mayor of Corning, New York. Amid sexual misconduct allegations, Reed announced in March 2021 that he would not seek reelection in 2022. This happens to be in keeping with statements he made in 2010, indicating that he would not seek reelection past 2022 as he was in favor a 12-year term limit for US House members.
