Doreen Gail Koenig, a well-known South Florida philanthropist and wife of City Furniture President and CEO Keith Koenig, died July 10 2015 following a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She was 62. During their 37-year marriage, she and her husband supported numerous charities in the region, notably the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women’s Center at Holy Cross Hospital here, where she died surrounded by family. Other charitable efforts included support of the American Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale and the Archdiocese of Miami, to name a few. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Andrew Koenig; a daughter, Daren Koenig Cronin; and her mother, two brothers and a sister.
