Terry Allen is a veteran political and legislative strategist with expertise on a broad range of issues ranging from technology, energy, judiciary, telecommunications, tax, and trade, to health care and nutrition. With over two decades of professional experience in government, politics, and public policy. Mr. Allen delivers results for Federal Strategy Group’s clients through practical understanding of the legislative and decision-making processes and through building strategic partnerships and diverse policy and political coalitions. For nearly a decade, Mr. Allen has represented some of the world’s leading companies. Prior to joining Federal Strategy Group, Mr. Allen served as founder and president of Fidelis Government Relations, a strategic consulting and government relations firm based in Washington, DC. Prior to his career as a leading government relations consultant, Mr. Allen served as Chief of Staff for former NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver and U.S. Rep. Steve Largent (R-OK) managing all aspects of the Congressman’s legislative and political agenda. In 1998, Mr. Allen managed Rep. Largent’s race for House Majority Leader which was decided on a third ballot -- an unprecedented feat for a two-term House Member. In 1990, Mr. Allen founded and served as Executive Director of the Resource Institute of Oklahoma, a non-partisan public policy think tank in his native Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. While directing the institute, Mr. Allen co-edited Health Care in Oklahoma: Prescription for Reform, published by New Forums Press. Mr. Allen’s radio commentary was heard on radio stations throughout central Oklahoma. During the 101st Congress, Mr. Allen served as a Policy Analyst for the House Republican Study Committee, covering health care, labor, and judiciary issues. As a Legislative Assistant to Rep. Clyde Holloway (R-LA) during the 100th Congress, Mr. Allen was responsible for the drafting and introduction of HR 3944, innovative legislation that was adopted by the Republican leadership and the Bush Administration as the Republican substitute to the Democrat-sponsored Act for Better Child Care. During the Reagan Administration, Mr. Allen served as Legislative Liaison in the Office of Legislative Affairs under Secretary William Bennett at the U.S. Department of Education. Mr. Allen received his B.A. in Communications from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Allen has advised dozens of campaigns throughout the nation and taught campaign schools in the U.S. and internationally.
