Michael Allen Collins was US Representative from Georgia, representing the 3rd then the 8th districts from 1993 to 2005. He unsuccesfully ran for the US Senate in 2004, preventing him to seek reelection in the House; he was defeated in the Republican primary. In 2006 he attempted to return to the House, running against Democrat Jim Marshall but was defeated by a narrow margin. Mac Collins died on Nov 20th 2018 in Flovilla, GA.
