Joined the Chamber: February 1991 Education: bachelor’s degree in economics, Vanderbilt University, Nashville Tenn.; graduate, Institutes for Organizational Management (U. S. Chamber of Commerce); graduate of Leadership Alabama, and graduate of Center for Creative Leadership, Aspen, Colo. Recently Hallett was awarded a doctorate of humane letters from Spring Hill College, Mobile. Previous Experience: Prior to his association with the Chamber, Hallett owned and operated Hallett Building Materials. National & State Affiliations: In addition to his position with the Mobile Area Chamber, Hallett is chairman of the United States Chamber of Commerce’s Committee of 100, a member of its board of directors, accreditation board and bylaws committee, and the International Policy Committee. He has served as chairman of the Metropolitan Cities Council with the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), and is an ACCE board member. On the state level, Hallett is a board member for the Business Council of Alabama and Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama. Chamber role: Hallett oversees the administration of the organization and is responsible for the accomplishment of its strategic and annual goals.
