Don Sterhan has been actively involved in the planning, development and financing of business projects in Montana for over 25 years. As an owner and operator of a private consulting firm during this time, Don’s past experience and business interests include resort and commercial real estate development, natural resource development projects, financial services, and strategic planning. In August of 2003, Don accepted the position of President & C.E.O. of Mountain Plains Equity Group, Inc., a private, non-profit corporation office in Billings, Montana. MPEG is an equity investment fund dedicated to the development and financing of low-income tax credit housing projects in the states of Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota. Don is originally from Glendive, Montana, although he was raised primarily in the Flathead Valley of western Montana. Don attended Columbia Falls High School and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. Don is a member of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the National Association of State & Local Equity Funds (NASLEF), and the National Advisory Council of Rocky Mountain College. Don is a current member and Past President of the Montana Chamber Foundation, Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Montana Chamber of Commerce, past member of the Montana Lottery Commission, past member of the Oversight Committee for the Montana Family Education Savings Program, and a past member of the Billings Library Foundation Board. In 1995, Don was appointed by the President to the White House Conference on Small Business.
