Roy M Goodman

New York State Senator for 33 years "Statesman of the State Senate," former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Investigations, Taxation and Government Operations, former New York City Director of Finance, Chairman New York Republican County Committee, and President and CEO of the UNDC. He grew up on the Upper East Side, earned a bachelor’s degree and an M.B.A. at Harvard, and then served as an officer in the Navy. In 1955, he married Barbara Furrer, and they had three children. She died in 2006. In the early 1960s, after a short stint in investment banking, Mr. Goodman joined the family business, becoming president of Ex-Lax Inc. at age 32. He sold the business several years later, reportedly for $40 million. Beloved husband of 50 years to Barbara, devoted father of Claire, Leslie, Randy and grandfather of Ricky, Danny, Nicole, Erika, Thomas and Kaitlyn; father-in-law of Rusty and Molly; brother-in-law of John and Lou Furrer.
