Lorraine T. Hunt-Bono has been a Las Vegas and Nevada Business Leader for 30 years. She was the first woman to chair the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority Board. Lorraine served two terms as Nevada’s Lieutenant Governor and led the state’s Tourism Commission’s effort to successfully secure an exclusive license to market Nevada in the People’s Republic of China. Lorraine was the first Nevada state official to formally visit the People’s Republic of China. Her vision to open this lucrative market of 1.4 billion people for Nevada has accelerated Las Vegas and Nevada’s opportunities in the global tourism market. As Lt. Governor, Lorraine also led the Nevada Commission on Economic Development and brought together the science, engineering and technology fields from the public and private sectors throughout the State to produce The Battelle Memorial Institutes Study of potential strategies and economic development opportunities for Nevada. She also acquired a grant from the prestigious Kaufman Foundation for Nevada and led the NCOT efforts as Chair of the Truckee River Whitewater Steering Committee and the Elko Railport Development Project. Lorraine currently serves as Commissioner on the Nevada Commission on Tourism. Lorraine’s unique perspective of global tourism, and business opportunities for the United States, is forward thinking and long term. She is a 50 year resident of Las Vegas, a former vocalist-entertainer on the Las Vegas Strip, real estate developer, restaurateur and entrepreneur. Lorraine is married to Dennis Bono, recording artist and host of a music-variety show from Las Vegas, The Dennis Bono Show. Between them they have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
