Mr. McGillicuddy retired at the end of 1993 as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Chemical Banking Corporation and Chemical Bank. He had served 23 years as either president or chairman of a major money center banking institution, 15 of those years as chief executive officer. In 1971, he was elected President of Manufacturers Hanover Corporation and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, and in 1979, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to the December 2005 merger of WellChoice, Inc. and WellPoint, Inc., Mr. McGillicuddy served as Chairman and a Director of WellChoice, Inc. He serves as a director of Hunter Roberts Construction Group and Kelso & Company. Mr. McGillicuddy is also President of the Boy Scouts of America, Greater New York Council; Chairman Emeritus of New 2York-Presbyterian Foundation, Inc.; Chairman Emeritus and Life Trustee of New YorkPresbyterian Hospital; Member of the Board of Governors of New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System; a Life Member of The Salvation Army of Greater New York's Advisory Board; an Honorary Trustee of the New York Public Library; Trustee Emeritus of Princeton University; Director Emeritus of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame; Trustee of the Inner-City Scholarship Fund; Director of The Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation and a member of the Finance Council of the Archdiocese of New York. He has also served on active duty with the United States Navy with the rank of Lieutenant junior grade.
