is a co-founder of Craton Equity Partners, one of southern California’s largest clean technology investment funds and a leading voice in promoting sound environmental and energy policy in response to climate change. Tom was for seven years vice chair of the California State Board of Corrections appointed by former Governor Gray Davis as well as one of his appointees to the State Coastal Commission as an alternate. Tom was also President Clinton’s, and Secretary of State Christopher and then Albright’s appointee to the Border Environmental Cooperation Commission, which was the NAFTA related commission to assure environmental sustainability was made priority in the implementation of the NAFTA. Tom is an active member of the New America Alliance, the country’s leading Latino business group seeking to promote diversity in finance, and is the long time board secretary of the Mono Lake Committee in California.
