Andrew Hahn

ANDREW HAHN SHARE THIS: Andrew Hahn is a professor in the Brandeis University in the Heller Graduate School for Social Policy and Management. Professor Hahn teaches courses on program evaluation, youth policies and programs, and community building and serves as Director of the Sillerman Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy. A former associate dean and director of the Heller School's Masters in Management program, he is a founder of the Heller School's Center for Youth and Communities and co-chairs the Heller School graduate programs in children, youth, and families. Professor Hahn's books, as well as dozens of published articles and reports, are syntheses of practical lessons for program managers and policymakers about effective strategies for assisting society’s most vulnerable youth. His work is aimed at identifying opportunities to strengthen youth policies and assisting local leaders to contribute to policy development and change. Through the Heller School’s new Sillerman Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy, his work focuses on improving philanthropic practices through evaluation and connections to social policies. Professor Hahn serves on the board of Steppingstone Foundation and the GreenLight Fund. He was appointed to the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit Steering Committee with the Aspen Institute and National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship in 2007. In 2005 he was selected by the World Bank as a consultant to advise on the World Development Report, which focused on youth that year. In addition to serving as a trustee for many youth organizations, Professor Hahn is a foundation adviser on numerous grant-making strategies, and serves as a regular columnist for Youth Today.
