Jack Lockton, 61, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2004. Jack was born August 11, 1942 to John and Marie Lockton and was a Kansas Citian all of his life. He attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City and graduated in 1964 with a degree in economics. At age 24, Jack became the first employee of his father and mother's insurance agency in 1966. He led the company to become a recognized force throughout the insurance industry. Jack personally was involved in many community causes. Highlights include board member of the Kansas City Museum when the move to Union Station was initiated. He served on the boards of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City, the University of Missouri at Kansas City, the Midwest Research Institute, the Kansas City Crime Commission and the Kansas City Area Economic Development Council. Jack was preceded in death by his father, John T. Lockton Jr. and is survived by his mother, Marie W. Lockton, his loving wife, Cheryl Slusher Lockton, three sons, John Stephen Lockton, Ronald Jones Lockton, Donald Slusher Lockton, his brother, David Marshall Lockton, three daughters-in-law, Nikki Lampkin Lockton, Kelly Tilma Lockton, Becky Hershman Lockton, seven grandchildren, Lindsay, Tyler, Jack, Olivia, Carley, Stevie, Talbot (all Locktons), cousin, William Lockton Frick, aunt, Virginia Lockton Turner, sister-inlaw, Mary Dunlap Lockton, nephew, David Marshall Lockton II, and niece, Laura Elizabeth Lockton, and greatniece, Celeste Elizabeth Lockton.
