Eric Hargan is a member of President-elect Trump’s HHS Landing Team and shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Health & FDA Business Practice. He focuses his practice there on healthcare regulations, government relations and transactions, all with a specific focus on healthcare sector transactions. Hargan also was a partner at McDermott Will & Emery and Winston & Strawn. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Mr. Hargan held a number of senior positions at HHS under President George W. Bush, including deputy secretary for HHS, regulatory policy officer and deputy general counsel. In these roles, Hargan helped to lead a number of federal health programs including Medicare; Medicaid; food, drug and medical device regulation; public health; medical research; and welfare programs. Hargan also served as co-chair and convener of Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner’s Healthcare and Human Services Transition Committee. He was later appointed to the Illinois State Health Improvement Planning Council and to the Illinois State Innovation Model Group. Hargan holds a bachelor’s from Harvard University and a law degree from Columbia University
