Ms. Souders brings more than a decade of legislative, consulting and political experience, including the development and implementation of successful federal legislative and funding campaigns for a variety of clients. As one of the firms’s founding partners, Ms. Souders has been with Cornerstone since 2002. Currently, her concentration is in the area of public health, health care, education and other non-profit interests. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Ms. Souders spent four years as an associate at two other lobbying firms where she was responsible for all aspects of client service and business development. Ms. Souders also spent two years at a Washington, D.C. based government contracting and consulting firm specializing in securing government contracts for clients through the U.S. General Services Administration. , Ms. Souders worked as Deputy Treasurer for a successful campaign for the U.S. Senate. In this capacity, she was responsible for building grassroots support for the candidate while ensuring that the campaign complied with Federal Election Commission regulations. The candidate, previously a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, later became the Assistant Majority Leader of the Senate as well as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and Chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee. She has also aided other political campaigns ranging from mayor, to the U.S. House of Representatives, to the U.S. Senate. As a result of Ms. Souders experience in campaigns and in the consulting/lobbying field, she has developed a diverse, bipartisan network of contacts among Members of Congress, their staffs, and personnel in various federal departments and agencies. Ms. Souders earned a B.A. in History from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a board member of the Illinois State Society, a member of the Illinois Group and Women in Government Relations.
