Through years of relationship building and a vast institutional understanding of the policymaking process in New York, Mr. Lasky has become, in the words of the New York Times, “one of the most influential, and effective, lobbyists in Albany.” Mr. Lasky specializes in the areas of healthcare, insurance, education, licensing, economic development and campaign finance. He received an M.A. in Political Science from SUNY-Albany prior to employment as a Research Analyst for the New York State Assembly in the office of Assemblyman Saul Weprin, who subsequently was elected Assembly Speaker. From there, he became Executive Director of the New York State Association for the Learning Disabled where he spearheaded a successful lobbying effort to obtain improved recognition, increased services and substantial funding for this developmental disability. He then became the lobbyist, and later, the Executive Director of the New York State Dental Association where he was instrumental in transforming this professional association from a non-player in the political process into one of the more powerful lobbying groups in the state with a political action committee contributing $1.2 million per election cycle. In his capacity as director and consultant for this PAC as well as for several others, Mr. Lasky continues his involvement in hundreds of election campaigns for candidates on both sides of the aisle.
