Sharon Daniels is Senior Vice President at Gephardt Group, where she focuses on government affairs. With more than 25 years' experience in the U.S. House of Representatives, she served as Administrative Assistant in the leadership office of House Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt, where she was renowned as his right arm and gatekeeper. In that capacity, she served as liaison between the Leader and Democratic Members of Congress, as well as the administrative offices of the House. At the beginning of the 104th and the three succeeding Congresses, she was the House Democratic Caucus' candidate for House Sergeant at Arms. Sharon initially served on the staff of the House Democratic Caucus under then-Chairman Gillis Long of Louisiana. She remained with the Caucus under the next Chairman, Dick Gephardt, and became its Director in 1987. She transitioned to the Leader's Office with Gephardt's election as House Majority Leader in 1989, and has been with the Gephardt Group since its initial formation as Gephardt & Associates. Sharon earned her bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland.
