Berliner is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Westmount Asset Management, a firm he co-founded in 1990. Westmount is one of the largest independent wealth management firms in Southern California, serving the investment and planning needs of individuals, families, pension plans, foundations and nonprofits. Before starting Westmount, he practiced law, initially as a civil business litigator, and later as a federal criminal prosecutor, becoming Assistant Chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office. A native of Los Angeles, Berliner received a bachelor's degree from Brown University, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he served as Supreme Court Editor of the Harvard Law Review. Over the last decade, Berliner has frequently been recognized as one of the leading investment advisors in the country by Barron's and Worth magazine.
