Mr. Healey is a principal at BKSH & Associates and a 26-year veteran of Capitol Hill, where he specialized in tax and trade issues. He has represented the firm’s corporate and international clients before the Congress on a variety of issues and has placed a particular emphasis on the tax, trade and health areas. For 15 of his 26 years on Capitol Hill, Mr. Healey served as former Representative Dan Rostenkowski’s principal aide and political advisor. During this period, he acted as special assistant to the Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means, assistant to the House Chief Deputy Majority Whip and administrative assistant to the Congressman. Mr. Healey was responsible for helping to prepare the Chairman’s legislative agenda on all tax and trade issues and was the Chairman’s representative to the President’s Export Council. He was also appointed as a Congressional advisor to the Polish-U.S. Economic Council. In addition, Mr. Healey had occasion to serve as an advisor to former Speaker of the House Thomas P. O’Neill on matters dealing with international relations. He helped plan the Speaker’s foreign agenda and accompanied him on all major trips abroad, including visits to the Far East, Western and Eastern Europe, Africa, Australia, Scandinavia, the Middle East and the Caribbean. Mr. Healey is also a citizen of the Republic of Ireland, where he is a member of the Lahinch Golf Club. A native of New York, Mr. Healey holds a bachelor of arts degree in government from Georgetown University, with further studies at St. John’s University in New York. He is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Georgetown Alumni Association and is a past president of the Georgetown Alumni Club of Metropolitan Washington. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Visitors of Georgetown’s Graduate Public Policy Institute.
