William D. Crosby, Jr. has experience representing client interests across a broad range of issue areas including financial services, homeland security, trade, appropriations, budget, immigration, maritime, tax, and patents. Since the April, 2005 founding of The Crosby Group, LLC he has represented clients both through the Crosby Group, LLC, and also through a continuing strategic alliance with the Livingston Group, LLC, where he was a Principal from 2002 to 2005. From 1999 to 2002 he was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Solomon Group, an international consulting firm providing strategic advice, counsel, lobbying and public relations. Prior to that he served for 27 years on the staff of the House Rules Committee, first as Republican Chief Counsel and later as Chief Counsel, during the chairmanship of Congressman Jerry Solomon of New York. In a December 10, 1998, Washington Post article announcing the establishment of The Solomon Group, Crosby was described as "one of the nation's foremost authorities for moving legislation through the House of Representatives." Crosby served as a Navy officer during the Vietnam War and earned degrees from Yale (BA in 1965) and Columbia (JD in 1968). He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, where he still owns and operates a farm.
