A native of North Carolina, Elizabeth began her career working for her home state Senator. She then served as press secretary for the House Energy and Commerce Committee. An attorney, Elizabeth completed her congressional service running the legislative office of then-freshman Representative Bob Goodlatte, who, 20 years later now serves as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. Following her time in Congress Elizabeth was director of government relations at the Walt Disney Company where she served as the motion picture industry’s representative in Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) negotiations which resulted in revisions to the Copyright Act and negotiated with Congress and the FTC to enact the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). She joined AOL in the late 90’s as vice president of public policy and ran its Congressional team. While at AOL she served on the front lines of Internet policy debates, helped navigate the company’s merger with Time Warner and ran a campaign to secure Congressional passage of Permanent Normal Trade Relations with China. In 2003 she built a private lobbying practice which became TwinLogic Strategies when she and co-founder Sharon Ringley launched the firm in 2009. Elizabeth earned her law degree from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America, while working full-time for Congress. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
