Glenn Kelly is Vice President of Government Affairs for the National Mining Association (NMA) in Washington, D.C. Kelly is responsible for advancing the views and interests of the U.S. mining industry in all issue areas related to climate change and clean air policy. He brings to this position nearly twenty years of experience in policy advocacy, analysis and development while working closely with the U.S. Congress, the Executive Branch and various international government and non-government organizations. He previously founded and served as President of Kelly Public Strategies, LLC, a highly successful government relations and public affairs consulting firm specializing in energy, environmental, economic and national security policy issues. He has served as Executive Director of the Alliance for Climate Strategies and of the FBI Agents Association. He has advised major domestic and international consulting firms, wireless telecommunications service providers and natural resources development trade associations. Kelly is widely recognized for his experience as a public policy advocate, public relations executive, key congressional aide and outside advisor to the White House and various government agencies. With a decade of experience as a congressional aide, his expertise is frequently sought after to span the bridge between desired policy objectives and political realities. He maintains a network of strong bi-partisan relationships with key government and policy leaders established by years of close working cooperation and trust. Kelly served with distinction as the Chief Executive Officer of the Global Climate Coalition, a leading energy and environmental advocacy coalition/trade association that achieved all of its desired public policy objectives. He subsequently headed an energy consulting practice at Qorvis Communications, a leading DC-based public affairs firm. Glenn Kelly has appeared frequently on major domestic and international news broadcasts and in the print media. He is sought out as a public speaker and has lectured at major universities on energy and environmental policy issues. Kelly is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and makes his home in Virginia with his wife, two daughters and Labrador Retrievers.
