Linginfelter has more than 24 years of experience in utility operations with AGL Resources. In December 2004, he was named senior vice president, Mid-Atlantic Operations, and in that role had executive oversight of Virginia Natural Gas, headquartered in Norfolk, Va.; Elizabethtown Gas, headquartered in Union County, N.J.; and Elkton Gas, headquartered in Elkton, Md. He began serving as president of Virginia Natural Gas in October 2000. Prior to joining Virginia Natural Gas, Linginfelter worked for Atlanta Gas Light for 17 years in various positions in sales, marketing and division operations. He served as vice president of rates and regulation representing the company before the Georgia Public Service Commission, Tennessee Regulatory Authority and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. With a solid background in customer service, he excels in building and managing cooperative and productive relationships with government officials and business and civic leaders. He joined the company’s Policy Committee in June 2007. Linginfelter served on numerous civic and community boards in Virginia, including the boards of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Norfolk State University Foundation, Tidewater Community College, Virginia Free, Hampton Roads Partnership and the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation. He served on the board of directors of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce until his return to Atlanta and was chair-elect upon his resignation. In 2004, he received the Paul A. Askew Community Service Award presented by regional organized labor groups for the advancement of workers’ rights in service to their community. Linginfelter has a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from Georgia Tech and a master’s degree in business administration from Georgia State University.
