Over seven years, Moglia and his team led an aggressive acquisition strategy that included nine deals, the two largest being Datek Online Holdings in 2002 and TD Waterhouse Group, Inc. in 2006. His leadership skills and charisma inspired the Company's management and associates to take immense pride in the firm's mission and success under his guidance. In 2005, Moglia was honored by the National Italian American Foundation for his business leadership accomplishments. He was again honored by the Columbus Citizens Foundation in 2006 for his lifetime of professional achievements. As chairman, Moglia now represents TD AMERITRADE shareholders at the board level, providing strategic guidance in shaping the growth strategy of the firm. His goal is to help ensure that the firm continues to grow and deliver profitability, and that the needs and concerns of shareholders are addressed in the decision-making process. He also serves the Company as an advocate for retail investors, providing regular commentary for financial news media. Moglia joined TD AMERITRADE in 2001 after spending 17 years at Merrill Lynch, where he was a member of the executive committees for both the institutional business and the private client business. Before leaving, he was responsible for all investment products, the insurance company, the 401(k) business and the middle market business. Prior to entering the financial services industry, Moglia was the defensive coordinator for Dartmouth College's football team. He coached various teams for 16 years, authored a book on football and wrote 11 articles that were published in national coaching journals. Moglia is a member of the board of directors of AXA Financial, Creighton University and the National Italian American Foundation, and a member of the STRATCOM Consultation Committee. He holds a master's degree in secondary education from the University of Delaware and a bachelor's degree in economics from Fordham University.
