Wayne M. Rogers was an investor and regular stock commentator and analyst on Fox News Channel. He is presently Chairman of Wayne M. Rogers & Co, an investment strategy firm, and Chairman of the Board of Kleinfeld, the famous wedding dress emporium in New York. He was C.E.O. and Chairman of Stop-N-Save, LLC, which owns and operates convenience stores in the Southeast. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Vishay Intertechnology, a corporation traded on the NYSE. He is on the Board of Trustees for The Webb School in Bell Buckle, TN. He is a founder of the Plaza Bank of Commerce in San Jose, acquired by Comerica, and has served on its advisory board. He also is the founder of and marketing director for the Premier Community Bank of the Emerald Coast. His real estate ventures have included: subdivisions and commercial office developments in Florida, Arizona, California and Utah. Among his other investments, Mr. Rogers is a principal owner of Delta Pacific Transportation Co., a barge company on the Mississippi River. He has served on the Board of Directors of such publicly held corporations as The Pantry Stores; P.H.C., Inc. ; Electronic Data Controls, Inc.; Alameden Vineyards; Extek Micro-Systems; Wadell Equipment Company and Regent Air Corp. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was National Chairman of Easter Seals, and was a member of the Executive Committee of both the Arthritis Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Rogers — who starred as the iconic show’s beloved doctor — appeared on M.A.S.H. from 1972 to 1975. The series, based on Robert Altman’s 1970 film of the same name, ran from 1972 to 1983. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Rogers graduated from Princeton University with a degree in history and enlisted in the Navy before beginning his acting career. Before starring on M.A.S.H., he appeared on shows such as The Fugitive and Gunsmoke, and after leaving M.A.S.H. in 1975, he subsequently starred in Cool Hand Luke, Murder, She Wrote, and Ghosts of Mississippi. After retiring from acting in the late ‘80’s, Rogers became a highly successful entrepreneur investor. He also wrote a 2011 book, Make Your Own Rules, and appeared regularly on the Fox New business show Cashin’ In. Rogers is survived by his wife of 27 years, Amy Hirsh.
