David Levinson

David W. Levinson serves as Chairman & CEO of L&L Holding Company, LLC, which he co-founded with Robert T. Lapidus in June 2000. L&L Holding Company is a privately owned real estate investment and development company. Mr. Levinson’s responsibilities include the strategic direction of the Company, development, acquisitions, marketing and leasing. Since inception, L&L has acquired assets approaching 5 million square feet of commercial office space with an approximate value of $3 billion including 142 West 57th Street, 150 Fifth Avenue, 195 Broadway, 2 Park Avenue, 200 Fifth Avenue, 425 Park Avenue Ground Lease, 600 Third Avenue, 635 Madison Avenue Ground Lease and Park 80 West in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. In 2003, L&L received BOMA’s Renovation of the Year award for the renovation and restoration of 150 Fifth Avenue. In 2008, the New York Post recognized L&L as one of New York City’s top property owners. Mr. Levinson served as Vice Chairman of CB Richard Ellis, Inc., the largest real estate services company in the world, until August 2005. Prior to their acquisition of Insignia/ESG, Inc. in June 2003, Mr. Levinson served as Vice Chairman. Mr. Levinson’s civic responsibilities include appointments to the Board of Trustees of the Intrepid Museum as well as serving as a member of their Exhibits and Education Committee, The Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York, Board Member of the Alliance for Downtown New York and Board Member and Executive Committee Member of the Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts. Mr. Levinson served as the Chairman of the New York Academy of Art for four years and as a trustee for ten years. The NYAA is a graduate school in Tribeca and offers a Master of Fine Arts degree. The NYAA enjoys the patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales. For twelve years, Mr. Levinson served on the Board of Trustees of The Allen Stevenson School, one of Manhattan's most prestigious boys' school, where he also served as a member of the Building & Grounds Committee and Chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee. In 2004, Mr. Levinson received the M. Anthony Fisher Memorial Award from the Association for the Help of Retarded Children and was honored by Symphony Space in 2007. The New York Observer named Mr. Levinson one of The 100 Most Powerful People in New York Real Estate in May 2008. In November of 2008, Mr. Levinson will receive the Israel Peace Medal from the State of Israel Bonds Real Estate Builders and Allied Industries Division. Mr. Levinson has received numerous professional and civic honors some of which include receipt of the Henry Heart Rice Award from the Real Estate Board of New York, Inc. as well as being named Top Broker nationally three times by both Insignia/ESG, Inc. and CB Richard Ellis.
