Richard W Moore

Richard "Dick" Moore is a member of Day Pitney's Individual Clients department. He advises clients on gift and estate planning, including the preparation of wills and trusts with the general goal of accomplishing clients' family and gifting objectives while being mindful of ways to reduce applicable gift, estate, income and generation-skipping taxes in order to preserve family wealth. He also counsels clients on a range of related matters. In addition, Dick provides legal and tax advice and oversight during probate and the administration of estates and trusts. When requested by clients, he has served as trustee and executor for them and their families. Dick's current charitable and community involvements include memberships on the boards of the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Community Foundation and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, as well as membership on New York City's Public Design Commission, which reviews all works of art, architecture and landscape architecture proposed on or over City-owned property. He has also served on the boards of the HOPE Program, the Brooklyn Historical Society and the Packer Collegiate Institute. He has lived in the Brooklyn Heights and Cobble Hill neighborhoods of Brooklyn since 1975, and is married to Barbara F. Moore. They have three grown children.
