T.J. GLAUTHIER is an executive, board member and strategic advisor in the energy sector. He serves on the board of directors of EnerNOC, Inc., a provider of demand-response services to the electric utility industry, and previously served on the board of Union Drilling, Inc., a contract driller of oil and gas wells in shale deposits. He is on the board of directors of CES-21, a program funded by the California Public Utilities Commission through which PG&E, Southern California Edison, and Sempra utilize the advanced computer capabilities of Livermore National Laboratory and other research centers. Glauthier has served on advisory boards for companies in the areas of the smart grid, energy efficient building materials, algae-derived biofuels, innovative financing for residential solar systems, large-scale power plant engineering and construction, and energy management for small businesses. He is an advisor to Booz Allen Hamilton’s energy practice. In addition, he sits on advisory boards at Stanford, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and the National Academy of Sciences. In 2013, he has been appointed to a Congressional advisory panel to evaluate the structure, governance and oversight of the nation’s nuclear weapons program and national laboratories, such as Los Alamos. In 2008, he served on President Obama’s transition team. In the Clinton Administration, he held two Presidential appointments: at the White House as Associate Director of OMB, and as the Deputy Secretary and COO of the Department of Energy, the second-highest position at DOE. At DOE, he was responsible for 120,000 federal and contractor employees, 17 national laboratories, and an annual budget of over $19 billion. He was also CEO of the Electricity Innovation Institute, an affiliate of EPRI; a management consultant, and director for energy and climate change at the World Wildlife Fund. He is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College and the Harvard Business School.
