Kathy Cassidy is the senior vice president and treasurer of GE and GE Capital. She announced her retirement on April 15, 2014 and will be transitioning her responsibilities to Dan Janki by the end of April. She will also continue to manage the Treasury aspects of the Synchrony Financial IPO. Kathy held this role since December, 2001. Almost all of GE's debt is issued through GE Capital to support its financial services businesses. GE Capital is America's largest corporate issuer of long-term debt and the world's largest issuer of commercial paper. Kathy serves on the Board of Directors of buildOn, a non-profit organization that empowers urban U.S. high school students through in-class and intensive after-school programs, while also building schools and bringing literacy to children and adults in developing countries around the world. Kathy is also an active member of the Treasury Leadership Roundtable (Washington, DC). Kathy holds a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Connecticut and a MBA from Fordham.
