Ginni Thomas

President and chief executive of Liberty Central, a nonprofit hoping to mobilize conservatives online. The group, which is aiming to appeal to small-government "tea party" activists, was incorporated in Delaware in January 2010 and is registered with the Virginia State Corporation Commission. Virginia L. Thomas is Director of Executive Branch Relations at The Heritage Foundation. In her current position, Thomas works to advance Heritage's policy recommendations on a range of foreign and domestic issues among decision-makers in the executive branch. Previously, Thomas served as Heritage's Senior Fellow in Government Studies. Her work helped guide the implementation of the Government Performance and Results Act, which requires government agencies to define their missions and set performance goals so Congress can better carry out its oversight responsibilities. Before coming to Heritage, Thomas handled oversight responsibilities for all House committees for the House Majority Leader Dick Armey of Texas. From 1993 to 1995, she was Senior Policy Coordinator for the House Republican Conference. Prior to that, she was Deputy Assistant Labor Secretary and a labor counsel for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Thomas also served on the legislative staff Rep. Hal Daub (R-NE). She is on the Board of Trustees for Hillsdale College in Michigan. In 2006, she served as a Bush Delegate to the United Nations for the Commission on the Status of Women in New York. She serves on the Advisory Committee for Admissions for the Creighton Law School and is a member of the Space Shuttle Children's Trust Fund. Thomas holds a law degree and undergraduate degree from Creighton University in her hometown of Omaha, Neb. She lives with her husband, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, in Northern Virginia. They are raising a great nephew of theirs as a son and she has one adult stepson who is married.
