Peter J. Taylor joined the board in November 2005. He is the executive vice president and chief financial officer of the University of California system. Prior to this appointment, he served as a managing director of public finance at Barclays Capital. In that role, he served as the lead banker on the State of California's $10.9 billion Economic Recovery Bond issuance in 2004, and again on the follow-up transaction in 2008. Previously, Taylor was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the California Performance Review Commission and also served on the California Student Aid Commission as an appointee of Governor Gray Davis. Taylor has been the executive director of the nonprofit Coro Foundation in Los Angeles. He is a past chair of the board of directors of the UCLA Foundation, and he currently serves as Vice Chair on the board of directors of The James Irvine Foundation.
