David M McClanahan

David M. McClanahan has served as a director and as President and Chief Executive Officer of CenterPoint Energy since 2002. He served as Vice Chairman of our predecessor company from October 2000 to September 2002 and as President and Chief Operating Officer of its Delivery Group from 1999 to September 2002. Previously, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of our predecessor company's Houston Lighting & Power Company division from 1997 to 1999. He has served in various executive officer capacities with us since 1986. He currently serves on the board of the Edison Electric Institute and as the Chairman of the Board of the American Gas Association.
