Elected to represent the 29th Senate District in 2008, a region that includes portions of Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties. Prior to serving in the Senate, Bob Huff served the 60 th Assembly district from 2004-2008. In the Assembly, Huff held leadership positions of Whip and Republican Caucus Chairman and Vice Chair of the San Gabriel Valley Legislative Caucus. He currently serves as Senate Republican Caucus Chairman, Vice Chair of the San Gabriel Valley Legislative Caucus and serves on the following committees: Vice Chair of the Education and Transportation and Housing Committees and a member of the Budget, Public Safety and Natural Resources and Water Committees. As a proponent of reform within California’s school system, Senator Huff has had legislation signed into law guaranteeing more funding for public charter schools. He has lead efforts to continue the Standard Testing and Reporting (STAR) program for second graders and fought for parents’ right to choose the best school for their children.
