Alexandre Balkanski

Dr. Alexandre A. Balkanski has been with the firm since May 2000 and is based in the firm's Menlo Park office. Dr. Balkanski co-founded C-Cube Microsystems Inc. in July 1988 and served as the President and Chief Executive Officer from July 1995 to May 2000. He became the Senior Vice President in August 1989, served as the Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, the Executive Vice President, and the Chief Operating ... Officer from February 1994 to June 1995. In 1994, Dr. Balkanski took the company public and in 1998, he orchestrated the firm’s acquisition of DiviCom. Prior to joining the firm, he co-founded and served as the President at Diamond Devices. Dr. Balkanski serves on the Boards of Ambarella, Aspendos, D2S, Inc., Decru, Infinera, Mu Security, Newport Media, Picarro, Xoomsys, Transparent Networks, and Sierra Semiconductor Corporation. He served as a Director of CKS Group Inc. since 1995. Dr. Balkanski was a Director of PMC-Sierra Inc. since August 1993. He served as a Director of Cube Microsystems Inc., since April 1993. Dr. Balkanski was a Director of Decru, Pedestal Networks, Entrisphere, and Atrica. He has a Ph.D. in Business Economics from Harvard University, an M.S. in Physics, and a B.S. in Physics from Harvard College.
