Longtime Valley business leader Doug Yonko, an executive with Hensley Beverage Company, has died. Yonko, a Scottsdale resident, passed away on Sept. 24 2020 at age 61. He is survived by his wife Elisabeth, two daughters and two grandchildren. Yonko, who worked at Hensley Beverage for 32 years, was the vice president of communications for the company and a member of its executive committee. Hensley Beverage is Arizona's largest beverage distributor of well-known brands such as Anheuser-Busch beer. The Phoenix-based company also has branch operations in Tucson, Chandler and Prescott Valley. Yonko, a member of the Thunderbirds, was a highly visible member of the Valley's business community and was well-known for his work with community organizations and charitable organizations. He represented the company on the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and was a longtime board member of the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association, and had a long affiliations with the Valley Hotel and Resort Association, the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, and the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
