George Nolen, 53, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of Siemens AG. With 69,000 Siemens employees based in all 50 states, and revenues of $22 billion, Siemens in the USA represents nearly 20% of the worldwide company’s revenues. It is a leader in industry, energy and healthcare. George rose through the ranks of Siemens over the last 26 years to become, in January 2004, the first American chosen to run the U.S. arm of Munich-based Siemens, which has 400,000 employees in 190 countries throughout the world. Since becoming CEO of Siemens Corporation, the U.S. company has experienced more than three years of double digit growth and $17 billion in new acquisitions, resulting in the United States being the largest revenue producing operation in Siemens worldwide. A member of The Business Roundtable, George also serves as a board and Executive Committee member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and on the board of the New York Hall of Science. In 2005, the Governor of Virginia named him to the Board of Visitors of Virginia Tech, where he is an alumnus. He is also the Chairman of the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute. George and his wife Michele are actively involved in supporting numerous children’s organizations. He enjoys golf, skiing and family time.
