Died Tuesday January 17, 2006 at her home in Naples Florida. She was born March 13, 1910 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of the Master's School, Dobbs Ferry, New York. She was active in many civic affairs in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania- The Junior League, Civic Club, The Clutter Club and others. She was an avid golfer and won the Pennsylvania State Amateur Golf Championship in 1932. She won the Central Pennsylvania Women's Championship in 1935, 1936 and 1937. She played in three state tournaments and was twice runner up. She also played in two Women's National Golf Tournaments and was the Milwaukee Country Club Women's Golf Champion in 1952, 1953 and 1963. In Milwaukee, she served on the Board of the Humane Society, the Y.M.C.A. and The Women's Western Golf Association, and the American Red Cross. During World War II she gave much of her time to the Red Cross Motor Corp. and was in charge of the Red Cross fleet. She drove used trucks from ammunition depots located in three states, Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas to Chicago to be reconverted for use overseas. She was a member of The Junior League, The Milwaukee Country Club, The Town Club, The Wisconsin Women's Club, Royal Poinciana, the Naples Yacht Club and the Hole in the Wall Country Club. She was the daughter of the late Judge John E. Fox and Rachel (Kunkel) Fox. Three brothers, Charles K. Fox, George B. Fox and John E. Fox, Jr. and a sister Mary E. Fox predecease her. She was also predeceased by her husband, Fred W. Uihlein who was a board member and officer of the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co. Surviving is a son, Fred W. Uihlein, Jr. of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and a daughter, Diane U. Koestner, wife of Mark P. Koestner of Naples, Florida; grandchildren Melissa (Scott) Kent, Eric (Nicole) Frauen, Reid Frauen, Lisa (Paul) Schmitz, Kelly Uihlein, Alison (Phil) Dunkley, Shaughn (David) Attal, Beth Renne and Chad Uihlein; 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a sister, Eliza F. Gerhardt of Baltimore, Maryland; her devoted friend and caregiver, Dora Marchal; and her beloved dog Choo Choo.
