With a background in finance, corporate project management, and marketing, Richard F Brueckner is the Chief of Staff at BNY Mellon, which is the corporate brand of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, and was the CEO of Pershing LLC until 2011. He is a member of BNY Mellon’s Executive Committee and the Board at ConvergEx, and has chaired or served on various executive boards and committees including those at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), and Muhlenberg College, his alma mater. Rich joined The Bank of New York in May 2003 when Pershing was acquired from Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB). He served as CEO of Pershing from 2001 to 2009 and as its Chairman from 2007 to 2011. He was a member of the CSFB Executive Board after CSFB's acquisition of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ) and Pershing in November 2000. He joined DLJ in 1978 and served as Treasurer of DLJ Securities Corporation and Chief Financial Officer of Pershing, where he has held a variety of senior management positions in administration, finance, marketing, and operations. Prior to 1978, he was a member of the management group of the Investment Services Department of KPMG Peat Marwick.
