Prior to Rite Aid, Standley was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Fleming Companies, Inc., a food marketing and distribution company based in Oklahoma City, which he joined in May 1999. From June 1998 to May 1999, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Fred Meyer, Inc., where he was responsible for all accounting, planning and budgeting, treasury and tax and assisted in the sale of Fred Meyer to The Kroger Company. From 1996 to 1998, Standley served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ralphs Grocery Company, the market share leader in southern California which Fred Meyer acquired in March, 1998. Standley has also held the positions of Senior Vice President-Administration with Smith's Food and Drug in Salt Lake City, as Chief Financial Officer of Smitty's Supervalu, Inc. in Phoenix and as Vice President-Finance for Food 4 Less Supermarkets, Inc. in Compton, California. He started his career in the retail industry serving as an Audit Manager for Retail and Finance Industry Groups at Arthur Andersen, LLP in Los Angeles.
