RENEE CONNOLLY is global head of communications and corporate responsibility at MilliporeSigma. Her responsibilities include leading internal and external communications, corporate brand strategy, the business’ community affairs/corporate responsibility programs and oversight of events and programs. She led the communication strategy for the $17B acquisition of chemical giant Sigma-Aldrich in 2015, marking the largest acquisition in company’s history, and one of the largest ever in the life science industry. During this time, Connolly also launched SPARK and its signature Curiosity Labs™, a program aimed at inspiring students to explore STEM careers. From its inception in early 2016, more than 5,000 MilliporeSigma volunteers have engaged 75,000 children in this exciting, hands on education program, all over the world. Prior to joining MilliporeSigma, Connolly was VP of US communications for EMD Serono. She serves as the chairperson of the Mass BioEd Foundation board and is on the board of the Massachusetts Conference for Women. Connolly is involved in numerous charitable causes, including the American Cancer Society, Hope Lodge and the American Diabetes Association. She was named a recipient of a Working Mother of the Year award in 2011 by Working Mother magazine. Connolly earned a BA in journalism from Ithaca College in New York. @milliporesigma
