Mr. Johnson has more than 35 years experience working within the natural resource field. He specializes in legislative and regulatory strategy and government affairs. His work focuses on public land and natural resource management, western water quality and quantity issues, western water issues, nuclear waste issues, federal and state mining issues, and federal energy issues. He also is an expert in the federal appropriations process. Before joining Holland & Hart, Mr. Johnson served as a senior consultant at MGN, Inc., a federal government relations firm in Washington, D.C. He has worked as the Director of Resources and Senior Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator Larry E. Craig and served as the Republican Staff Director of the Mining & Natural Resources Subcommittee for the U.S. House of Representatives Resources Committee. He also worked for more than 15 years in various positions within the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
